Remember how much you loved coloring when you were a child? You’d snuggle down into another world with your coloring books and crayons, and time would pass almost unnoticed. Children today love to color just as much, plus we now know that coloring is an excellent pre-reading activity that helps children develop the eye-and-hand coordination they will need to write. Coloring books are still available in the stores if you like, but you will also find a ton of coloring pages to print in the Internet which will provide your child with a much wider range of subjects to choose from than you’ll find in books.
Coloring in a picture will command your child’s full attention, as they concentrate on completing their work, and having the finished product show that they have done their best. This is a welcome assistance for parents who struggle to provide their children with experiences that will captivate their attention, only to find that their little minds and bodies start wandering after only a short time. So as a parent, you gain a short respite as your child works on their coloring page, your child gets to participate in a fun activity that teaches them as well. Which leads me to the next point.
Coloring pages have been around for many years, but with the ever-evolving technology that we are all so in awe of, it is the high-tech games and toys that generally catch the attention of parents, while the advantages that coloring pages have to offer very young or even elementary age children, are ignored. It would be quite beneficial for parents to understand that coloring pages provide a great number of learning opportunities for their children, and these lessons are conveyed in a fundamental way that children can grasp.
